Bodega Calle 2022 Dharma Red Blend Most of you have seen my name signed at the bottom of each Oddlots offer, but few have actually met me. After 4-years running these offers, today’s will allow us to get to know each other better. Bodega Calle has been run by my family for over 30 years, and is where I call home. Traditional, rustic Malbec is what I was raised on growing up in Mendoza, Argentina. From stomping grapes as a toddler, to running harvest in my teenage years, Malbec is what lead me to pursue a career in wine. Our Bodega Calle’s 2021 “Alberti” Malbec Reserva is a classically styled release from organically grown vines, with the typical red fruit/flower profile that we love in Malbec from Mendoza’s Lujan de Cuyo sub zone. “A direct, fruit-forward nose of sweet cherries, grilled herbs, roasted spices and a hint of roasted olives. Supple tannins on the palate, with a medium body and a fluid fruit core in the middle. Solid, medium-length finish. 60% malbec and 40% cabernet franc. Drink now.” – James Suckling 1/25
First Drop Wines 2022 Shiraz Barossa ‘Mother’s Milk’ In 2023, only one Australian wine cracked Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list. It wasn’t a high-dollar name like Penfolds Grange or Henschke’s Hill of Grace—it was First Drop’s Mother’s Milk Shiraz, a wine that provides such incredible value that it landed on the list for the second vintage in a row. The 2022 boasts the same 92-point score as those two Top-100 bottles—we wouldn’t be shocked if Spectator made it three on the trot. Lush and generous, exhibiting Barossa’s signature, with silky tannins and a long-lasting finish. Drink now–2030.
Domaine Laurent Martray 2022 Cote de Brouilly “Les Feuillees” 100% Gamay. Laurent Martray is the third generation of vintners in his family. After studying oenology and viticulture, he started making wine in 1987. In 2019, he purchased some of the finest terroirs within the Brouilly and Côte-de-Brouilly appellations in the famed Beaujolais region of eastern France. Through his brother, Christian, one of the most recognized sommeliers in France, Laurent was able to meet and learn from some legendary French vintners.A ripe, fresh bouquet of stone fruits and cherries in syrup stands out. On the palate, it’s pure indulgence: juicy, full-bodied, nourishing Gamay with fine, perfectly coated tannins.
Il Palazzone NV Rosso del Palazzone Il Palazzone, a boutique winery minutes from the town of Montalcino, produces Brunello di Montalcino in a traditional style. Owners, Kirsten and Peter Kern who are originally from the U. S., grow grapes in three separate areas allowing for the fullest and most balanced expression of Montalcino’s diverse terroir and microclimates. The wine is produced with Sangiovese grapes and is an authentic expression of Tuscan terroir. Whenever possible, they declassify a portion of their Brunello to be blended with the Vino Rosso barrels to result in greater complexity. This wine is fresh and fruity, yet expresses all of the elegance and energy of Sangiovese.

Lorelle 2020 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Lorelle is produced by John, Lynn, and Andrew Albin, better known as the family trio behind Six Peaks Winery. The fruit for this bottling comes from several vineyards in Willamette Valley, including the two vineyards that sit alongside their home, Laurel and Settler’s Hill. The fruit for this bottling comes from several vineyards in Willamette Valley, including two of their sustainably farmed sites: Laurel and Settler’s Hill. Laurel vineyard is high elevation in the Chehalem Mountains and is a cool climate site. Settler’s Hill, in Salem, is in the mid valley and is low elevation, warm, and produces intense Pinot Noir. A beautiful blend together. Aromas of blueberry preserves and oak spice. Flavors of chocolate covered cherries are balanced nicely with medium tannins and a lingering finish.
