Hi Everyone,
Today we are looking at a beautiful pair of flagship releases from our new core Etna producer!
You may be familiar with the work of cousins Anna, Benedetto, and Benedetto via Allesandro de Caporeale, their family’s four-generation Palermo estate. This trio recently opened a new winery in Etna, called Generazione Alessandro, which is the subject of today’s offer.
Many of you been asking us for Etna, our staff had been begging for Etna, and we went on a mission of sorts, hoping to make something beautiful happen.
We knocked on doors, we tasted, we went to fairs, we called friends and colleagues…
After sampling (or simply drinking) three or four dozen new releases from Etna over several months, the Croceferro and Trainara on offer today were amongst our favorites in a lineup of category classics. Lucky for us, this “just breaking out in the year 2024” project from Alessandro was more or less wide open. With boundless young energy driving the project and enviable detail in each wine on release, there isn’t another winery in the region we’d rather work with, and we could not ask for a better situation.
We plan to pick up as much stock as is allocated to us each vintage, and release them as a set to you for as long as they last. Both the Trainara and Croceferro are no-brainers, with average retail pricing for the Etna category being $40/bottle minimum.
Today you get 3 bottles of each, Etna Rosso y Bianco!

Generazione Alessandro 22 Trainara Etna Bianco DOC 750ml (90 V, 90 JS)
“Dusty florals, shavings of peach, wet stone and hints of ginger form a savory bouquet as the 2022 Etna Bianco Trainara opens in the glass. It floods the palate with silken textures, gaining contrast from mineral-tinged orchard fruits as a twang of sour lime emerges toward the close. The 2022 tapers off with mouthwatering tension as enriching notes of raw almond and a saline flourish resonate.” – Eric Guido, Vinous 6/24
Generazione Alessandro 21 Croceferro Etna Rosso DOC 750ml (93 F, 92 JS)
“Brilliant ruby red with fine garnet rim. Great fragrant and inviting nose of fresh cherries and wild strawberries, floral notes, fruit tea, clear dark spice in the back, cigar box, smoke. The palate is juicy, clear, with polished tannin and bright fruit, currently still a bit loosely knit, will come together great!” – Falstaff, 8/23
