We can’t get enough of this rich, balanced, regional Spanish red from Bierzo!
Bierzo is a relatively new wine region in Northern Spain, only officially registered in 1989. It’s mountainous, granite-based terrain is producing some of the best values in the wine world these days, most notably when using the indigenous grape Mencia, which is what you are tasting here. A bit juicier on the mid-palate than, say, Tempranillo, this blackberry/blueberry driven wine is going to become a staple. Stock the pantry!
